Which cleaning rules apply when I rent a house/apartment?

In southern Europe, the requirements for cleaning differ from those we are used to. In the text for each holiday accommodation you can find out whether cleaning is included in the price, is done by the guest or paid on site. In cases where only final cleaning is included, it means departure cleaning, regardless of length of stay.
When leaving the accommodation, always make sure the kitchen is in order, the dishes are clean, and the trash is empty.
When cleaning is to be done by the guest, the accommodation should be left in such a condition that it will be ready for the next tenant. If you have comments about the cleanliness upon arrival, contact the reception/key office immediately.
